How often should you bathe a newborn?

My daughter's 12 weeks old and I'm not sure how many times I should be bathing her. At the moment, I only bathe her 2-3 times a week as my nurse said newborns don't get that dirty. But I've been told by others that I should be washing her a lot more.

Depends on the climate ...
by: Newborn Hub

If you are living in a hot and humid climate, and take your baby out a lot (like in the park), you should bathe her 4-5 times a week. If you are living in a colder climate and your little one usually stays in her crib or carry-cot most of the time, then 3 times a week is fine.

But as babies grow older, their need to take a bath increases. Make sure her neck-folds do not have any milk residue (usually observed in bottle-feeding babies). Babies also have a habit of sucking their thumb (hand and feet!), so it is always a safe practice to give her a bath at least every alternate day, if not daily.
